About this app
Your customer's Business Central account next to the ticket: what they owe, what's overdue, which orders shipped and which didn't. Cofferwell finds the requester's customer in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and shows the balance, open invoices, open sales orders with shipping progress, recent shipments and credit memos. Agents answer "where's my order" and "send me that invoice again" without asking finance, and every change they make in Business Central is confirmed first and logged on the ticket.
Cofferwell is built by Great Work LLC. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Zendesk or Microsoft. Microsoft, Dynamics 365, Business Central and Microsoft Entra are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies.
The customer's account, in the ticket
- Found automatically by the requester's emails, or link a Zendesk organization to a customer number once.
- Balance and overdue amount, credit limit used, payment terms, and a badge when the customer is on hold.
- Open invoices, most overdue first, with amount open, due date, days overdue and PO number.
- Open sales orders with every line: shipped, still to go and planned dates. Orders past their requested delivery date are flagged.
- Recent shipments and credit memos, each linking to the record in Business Central.
- Look up anything by document number, PO number, customer number, name or email.
Answers you can send, and changes with a trail
- Insert into the reply: order status, open invoices or the balance, written for the customer. Credit limits and holds never go into the text.
- Email an invoice or credit memo from Business Central using your own document sending setup.
- Put a customer on hold or release a hold, with a reason. Only roles you list can do this; by default nobody can.
- Every change shows exactly what will happen, then adds an internal note naming the agent, customer and document, plus a tag (
cofferwell_sent,cofferwell_hold) for views and reports. - You decide who may act: every agent by default, or admins, roles or groups you list. Each action can be switched off.
Guided setup, least privilege
Cofferwell signs in with your own Microsoft Entra app registration, added in Business Central with the permission sets you choose. Read access (D365 BASIC and D365 READ) is all the panel needs. A setup check in the sidebar tests every step live and names the exact fix.
It doesn't create or edit orders, invoices, payments or prices. Business Central online on Microsoft's commercial cloud only; on-premises isn't supported.
Plans (billed monthly by Zendesk)
- Team: $150 per month for Zendesk accounts with up to 10 agents and admins.
- Scale: $16 per agent per month for 11 or more agents and admins.
Every feature is on both plans. 14-day trial; Zendesk asks for a card at install and billing starts when the trial ends unless you uninstall. You can change plans or cancel any time in Zendesk Admin Center.
Your data
The client secret is stored as a Zendesk secure setting and never reaches the agent's browser: Zendesk adds it on the way to Microsoft, and only to login.microsoftonline.com. Microsoft then issues a short-lived access token that the sidebar keeps in memory, limited to the permission sets you gave the app. Business Central data is read live while the sidebar is open and is never copied, stored or exported. The requester's email addresses go only to your own Business Central, to find the customer. Cofferwell has no Great Work server, sends nothing to Great Work or anyone else (not even usage statistics), does no background work and uses no AI. Writes happen only when an agent confirms one, on one ticket.
Made by Great Work, a small software company. Questions go to hello@greatwork.company and a person replies within one business day. (We're the ones with the duck.)
Details zur App
Installationsanweisungen
- Register an app (a Microsoft Entra admin): Microsoft Entra admin center > Identity > Applications > App registrations > New registration. Name it "Zendesk Cofferwell", choose "Accounts in this organizational directory only", leave Redirect URI empty, Register. Copy the Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID from Overview. Then Certificates & secrets > Client secrets > New client secret (24 months) and copy its Value right away. Then API permissions > Add a permission > Dynamics 365 Business Central > Application permissions > API.ReadWrite.All > Add permissions > Grant admin consent.
- Add the app in Business Central (a Business Central admin): search for Microsoft Entra Applications > New. Paste the Application (client) ID, enter the description "Zendesk Cofferwell", set State to Enabled. Under User Permission Sets add D365 BASIC and D365 READ (read access, all the panel needs) for the company Zendesk should show. Only if agents may email invoices and credit memos, also add the permission sets your staff use to send posted sales documents, and make sure an email account in Business Central may send for this app. Only if some agents may put customers on hold, add D365 CUSTOMER, EDIT. Business Central does not allow SUPER for apps.
- Install Cofferwell from the Zendesk Marketplace. The 14-day trial starts now; Zendesk asks for a card and starts billing when the trial ends unless you uninstall: $150 per month for up to 10 agents (Team) or $16 per agent per month from 11 agents (Scale).
- Fill in the settings: the Directory (tenant) ID, the environment name (as in Business Central admin center, usually Production), the company name exactly as Business Central shows it, the Application (client) ID and the client secret. The secret is a secure setting: agents never see it and Zendesk only sends it to login.microsoftonline.com.
- Choose Who may take actions (
agentfor everyone, the default, oradmin, custom role ids, orgroup:<id>) and Who may change customer holds (empty by default, so nobody). Switch off any action you don't want, and set the local currency your company keeps its books in (Business Central leaves the currency blank on local-currency records). - Open any ticket as an admin. If anything is missing, Cofferwell opens its setup check, tests every step live and names the exact fix. When all steps pass, agents see the requester's customer, balance, orders and invoices.
Cofferwell creates one organization field at install, "Cofferwell: Business Central customer no.", which holds the customer number when an agent links an organization; Zendesk removes it when you uninstall. Cofferwell adds internal notes and cofferwell_* tags to tickets only when an agent emails a document or changes a hold; they stay if you uninstall. Uninstalling deletes the stored secret; also delete the client secret in Microsoft Entra and the app entry in Business Central.
