About this app

See the customer's Chargebee subscriptions on the ticket, and fix billing without leaving Zendesk. When someone writes in about a failed payment, a renewal or a cancellation, Termwell shows their Chargebee customer next to the ticket: subscriptions with plan and addons, unpaid invoices and dunning, credit notes and refunds. Agents you allow can refund, cancel or pause, apply a coupon, add promotional credit or send a payment link, and every action is written to the ticket as an internal note.

Termwell is built by Great Work LLC. It is not made or endorsed by Zendesk or Chargebee. Chargebee is a trademark of Chargebee Inc.

The whole subscription in the sidebar

  • Matched automatically by every email address on the requester's Zendesk profile, and optionally by a Zendesk user field or the external id that holds the Chargebee customer id.
  • Subscriptions with plan, addons, quantity, price, coupons, status and the next renewal, trial end, scheduled cancellation or pause.
  • Problems first: unpaid invoices with the amount due, dunning in progress with the next retry, and an expired or invalid card.
  • Invoices, credit notes and refunds, with the invoice PDF and links into Chargebee. Promotional credit, refundable credit and unbilled charges at a glance.
  • Works with Product Catalog 2.0 and legacy 1.0 sites.

Actions with guard rails

  • Refund an invoice in full or in part, with a credit note reason (Chargebee's standard reasons or your own reason codes).
  • Cancel at end of term and remove a scheduled cancellation. Pause now, at the end of the term or on a date, with an optional resume date, and resume or remove a scheduled pause.
  • Apply a coupon by coupon id or coupon code, and add promotional credit.
  • Send a payment link for unpaid invoices: Termwell creates a Chargebee payment page and puts the link in your reply.
  • Every action shows a confirmation that says exactly what will happen before anything is sent.

  • You decide who may act: admins only by default, or agents, custom roles or groups you list. Each action type can be switched off, refunds and credits above limits you set need an admin, and you can limit which coupons agents may apply.

Logged on the ticket, every time

  • After Chargebee accepts an action, Termwell adds an internal note with the amounts, the Chargebee ids, the reason, the agent and their note, plus a tag (termwell_refund, termwell_pause and so on) you can use in views and reports.
  • Refund credit notes and promotional credits carry the ticket number in Chargebee, so finance can trace them back.

Several Chargebee sites

  • Connect up to three Chargebee sites, for example one per brand or region. Termwell opens the site mapped to the ticket's brand, and agents can switch.

Get started

Create an API key in Chargebee, install Termwell and enter your site name and key. Open a ticket from a subscriber and their Chargebee subscriptions show in the sidebar.

Plan (billed monthly by Zendesk)

Standard: $5 per agent per month. Every feature is included. 14-day trial; Zendesk asks for a card at install and billing starts when the trial ends unless you uninstall.

Your data

Your Chargebee API key is stored as a Zendesk secure setting. It never reaches the agent's browser: Zendesk adds it to each request on the way to Chargebee, and only for your own site at yoursite.chargebee.com. A read-only key gives the full sidebar; actions need a full-access key (the setup guide explains both). Termwell has no Great Work server, keeps no copy of your Chargebee or Zendesk data, has no export, sends nothing to Great Work or anyone else (not even usage statistics), does no background work and uses no AI.

Installationsanweisungen

  1. In Chargebee, go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > API Keys and create a key named "Termwell for Zendesk". For a read-only sidebar choose Read-only Key, All. To let agents take actions choose Full-Access Key, Write (Termwell never deletes anything). Keys for your test site and live site are different.
  2. Install Termwell from the Zendesk Marketplace and choose the Standard plan. The 14-day trial starts now; Zendesk asks for a card and starts billing when the trial ends unless you uninstall.

  3. Enter the Chargebee site name: only the part before .chargebee.com in your Chargebee address (for example acme, or acme-test for a test site). Paste the key into Chargebee API key. Zendesk stores the key as a secure setting; agents never see it, and Zendesk only sends it to that site.
  4. Optional: add a second or third site with its own site name and key, and list the Zendesk brand ids that should open each site.

  5. Choose Who may take actions: admin (the default), agent for everyone, custom role ids, or group:<id> for groups, separated by commas. Switch each action type on or off, set the Largest refund without an admin and Largest promotional credit without an admin (0 means no limit), and optionally list the Coupons agents may apply.
  6. Optional matching: the key of a Zendesk user field that holds the Chargebee customer id, or turn on Zendesk external id is the Chargebee customer id. Matching by email always runs.
  7. Open a ticket. Termwell shows the requester's Chargebee customer in the sidebar. Actions write an internal note on the ticket.

Termwell creates nothing in your Zendesk account at install. It adds internal notes and termwell_* tags to tickets only when an agent takes an action; they stay if you uninstall. Uninstalling deletes the stored keys; also delete the API key in Chargebee.
