About this app

Answer "can I skip my next box?" from the ticket. When a subscriber writes in, Skipwell shows their Recharge customer next to the ticket: every subscription with its product, frequency, price and next charge, upcoming and skipped charges, failing payments and recent charges with refunds. Agents you allow can skip, reschedule, pause, swap, change quantity or frequency, cancel, reactivate, apply a discount or refund, and every change is written to the ticket as an internal note. Your customer gets one reply instead of a link to the customer portal and a "let us know if that doesn't work."

Skipwell is built by Great Work LLC. It is not made or endorsed by Zendesk or Recharge. Recharge is a trademark of Recharge Inc.

The whole subscription in the sidebar

  • Matched automatically by every email on the requester's profile, or by a user field holding the Recharge customer id.
  • Subscriptions with product, variant, quantity, price, frequency, status and next charge.
  • Upcoming charges in date order, including skipped ones and their discounts.
  • Problems first: failing charges with the reason and next retry, and expired or expiring cards.
  • Recent charges with the order number and what is still refundable, linked to Shopify and Recharge.

Actions with guard rails

  • Skip or unskip the next delivery of one subscription.
  • Reschedule the next charge, or pause for 1 to 12 deliveries, with the new date shown before you confirm.
  • Change frequency or swap to another product or variant from a list your admin sets up.
  • Change quantity, cancel with a reason (saved in Recharge with the ticket number) and reactivate.
  • Apply a discount to one upcoming charge or every future one.
  • Refund a charge, in full or in part.
  • Every action shows exactly what will happen before anything is sent. Skipwell re-reads Recharge first and sends each change once, so a double click never skips or refunds twice.

  • You decide who may act: admins only by default, or agents, roles or groups you list. Switch off groups of actions, require an admin above a refund limit and limit which discount codes agents may apply.

Logged on the ticket, every time

After Recharge accepts a change, Skipwell adds an internal note with what changed, the amounts, Recharge ids and agent, plus a tag (skipwell_skip, skipwell_cancel and so on) for views and reports.

Several Recharge stores

Connect up to three Recharge stores. Skipwell opens the one mapped to the ticket's brand, and agents can switch.

What it doesn't do

  • Charges older than 90 days aren't shown.

  • Stores on Shopify Checkout refund in Shopify, so Skipwell links to the order instead.

  • Prepaid subscriptions can't be skipped, swapped or changed in frequency.

  • It doesn't edit addresses, payment methods, add-ons or bundles, and can't charge a card.

  • It needs a Recharge Admin API token. Check that your Recharge plan includes API access before you subscribe (see the setup guide).

Plan (billed monthly by Zendesk)

Standard: $10 per agent per month. Every feature is included. 14-day trial; Zendesk asks for a card at install and billing starts when the trial ends unless you uninstall.

Your data

Your Recharge token is stored as a Zendesk secure setting. It never reaches the agent's browser: Zendesk adds it to each request on the way to Recharge, and only to Recharge's API (api.rechargeapps.com). Skipwell has no Great Work server, keeps no copy of your Recharge or Zendesk data, has no export, sends nothing to Great Work or anyone else (not even usage statistics), does no background work and uses no AI.

Installationsanweisungen

  1. Check that your Recharge plan includes API access. Recharge's API documentation marks only a few endpoints (checkouts, bundles) as limited to higher plans and puts no plan limit on the ones Skipwell uses, but we have not confirmed API token access on the $99 Standard plan ourselves. If Tools & apps > API tokens is missing in your Recharge merchant portal, ask Recharge before you subscribe.
  2. In Recharge, a store owner opens Tools & apps > API tokens (accept Recharge's API terms if asked) and creates an Admin token named "Skipwell for Zendesk". Give it Read access for customers, orders, store, discounts, plans and payment methods (read lets agents see; Skipwell works without payment methods and store, but shows less), and Read and Write access for subscriptions (skip, reschedule, pause, frequency, swap, quantity, cancel, reactivate), orders (skip, unskip, discounts on a charge, refunds), customers (discounts on every future charge) and payment methods (refunds) if agents will take actions.
  3. Install Skipwell from the Zendesk Marketplace and choose the Standard plan. The 14-day trial starts now; Zendesk asks for a card and starts billing when the trial ends unless you uninstall.

  4. Paste the token into Recharge API token. Zendesk stores it as a secure setting; agents never see it, and Zendesk only sends it to Recharge's API. Optionally name the store in Store label and list the Zendesk brand ids that should open it.
  5. Optional: add a second or third Recharge store with its own token, Store label (the label turns it on) and brands.
  6. Choose Who may take actions: admin (the default), agent for everyone, custom role ids, or group:<id> for groups, separated by commas. Switch each group of actions on or off, set the Largest refund without an admin (0 means no limit), and optionally list the Discount codes agents may apply, your own Cancellation reasons and Refund reasons, and the Products agents can swap to (one per line: the variant id, then the name agents see).
  7. Optional matching: the key of a Zendesk user field that holds the Recharge customer id. Matching by email always runs.

  8. Open a ticket. Skipwell shows the requester's Recharge subscriptions in the sidebar. Every action writes an internal note on the ticket.

Skipwell creates nothing in your Zendesk account at install. It adds internal notes and skipwell_* tags to tickets only when an agent takes an action; they stay if you uninstall. Uninstalling deletes the stored tokens; also delete the token in Recharge.
