About this app

Find every broken link and image in your help center without leaving Zendesk. Free, and nothing leaves your account.

About the developer

Built and supported by Pablo Simón, an independent developer in Ireland, and made from the same engine as Help Center Doctor, the paid app that also fixes what this one finds.

What the app does

  • Scans every article and every language of your help center with your own permissions.

  • Finds links to articles, sections and categories that no longer exist, are archived, are drafts or are restricted to a user segment; broken anchors (#section); links to your old help center domain; plain-HTTP links and images.

  • Checks external links and images through Zendesk's request proxy, up to 200 URLs per scan, and tells the difference between broken, unverified (login walls, bot protection, timeouts) and fine.

  • Shows a link map: which articles link to a given article, so you know what breaks before you archive it.

  • Each finding explains the problem and opens the article in the editor. Re-scans only read what changed.

What it does not do

It never writes to your help center. To replace or remove links in bulk, add alt text, find and replace across articles or print documents, use Help Center Doctor (14-day free trial).

Data disclosure

  • The app runs entirely in the agent's browser inside Zendesk Support. It has no server, no vendor account and no API key.

  • Data accessed through the Zendesk API with the signed-in user's permissions: help center articles (title, body, labels, status, dates), translations, sections, categories and the current user's name, role and locale.

  • Data written: none.

  • Data stored: a scan cache and link-check results in the browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on the admin's computer. "Clear local data" in Settings removes it.

  • Nothing is transmitted to the developer or to any third party. No analytics, cookies or AI services. External links found in articles are requested through Zendesk's proxy only when the user runs the link check.

Installationsanweisungen

Help Center Link Checker needs no account, API key or configuration.

  1. Click Install on this listing (you need to be a Zendesk admin) and choose your account.
  2. On the installation screen you can restrict the app to certain roles or groups. Click Install.
  3. Open Zendesk Support. Link Checker appears as an icon in the left navigation bar. If you do not see it, reload the page.

  4. Click Scan now. The scan reads your help center with your own permissions and never changes anything.
  5. Open Findings to see broken links and images grouped by rule, and Link map to see which articles link to a given article.
