The specialist for cloud-based customer service solutions welcomes its 1,000th German customer and is moving into an office in Berlin, Germany’s digital hub
Berlin, June 19, 2013 Customer service solution provider Zendesk (de.zendesk.com) has fully arrived in the German market and has opened an office in Berlin. At the same time, Zendesk welcomes the one-thousandth client to its German community. The Berlin office is located on the Factory campus in the Berlin-Mitte district (factoryberlin.com) and will be home to direct sales and customer enablement teams for the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) as well as Eastern Europe. Steffen Teske, Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Zendesk, will head up the branch office.
Mikkel Svane, Zendesks founder and CEO, says: Berlin in general and the Factory, in particular, are the new digital hub of Germany. An ecosystem of innovative startups and established digital companies is developing here. In Berlin, we are closer to our customers, highly qualified professionals and industry thought leaders. Its an important location decision as we continue to grow in Europe.
The number of German companies using Zendesk has doubled in the past year, and the opening of the Berlin office is the latest in a series of expansion steps by Zendesk. This year, Zendesk has already opened offices in Tokyo and Dublin. With offices in London and Copenhagen, Berlin is Zendesks fourth location in Europe.
We have seen strong growth in the German market in recent months and have acquired many new customers and partners, says Steffen Teske, who joined the Zendesk team in April. It makes sense to be physically present with a local team in order to support our rapidly growing German community. Berlin is the digital heart of Germany, and we are proud to now officially be part of it all.
